Do You Love Me ? Then Tell Me Your Password - Interesting Recent Survey :)

A recent survey claims that 30% of teenagers who use the internet have shared at least one personal online password with a friend or a significant other. The study also says that girls are twice as likely as boys to give away their secret codes. Strange as it may sound, it is beginning to be considered as a sign of trust and intimacy among youngsters.

BFFs share everything
That girlie bonding between two BFFs ( Best Friends Forever) has now extended to sharing passwords. "My best friend and I share everything, and never keep a secret from each other, then why not our passwords? She checks my social networking page and informs me immediately if my crush comments on my picture, and I can check her mails and see which forward mail in her inbox I'd like for myself, etc. It's just fun," says Shweta Pahujani, 19, a fashion designing student.

Do you love me? Then give me your password
According to the study, passwords are being compared to sex in terms of intimacy and vulnerability. So, people need to share them to show that they trust their partner. More often than not, girls urge their boyfriends to share their passwords so that they can check if they're cheating on them, etc. The insecure ones even check their BFs' chat records to know 'woh us ladki se kya baat kar raha tha?' "We know each other's passwords and I love to scan every single chat of his. Somehow, it gives me peace of mind to know that he is loyal to me.

Can't share your password? I'm breaking up
However, some people might suffer a breakup only because they did not share their passwords. Ruchi Anand, 22, recalls, "My boyfriend wanted my Facebook password, and I didn't want to give it. I wasn't comfortable with letting him read my and my best friend's girlie conversations. Eventually, we broke up."

What do they do with passwords?
"When I found out that my best friend was dating the guy I had a crush on, I forwarded the two's online conversation to my friend's mom. She got the lesson of her life."
"I learnt that my boyfriend was dating multiple girls. So I used his password and sent a hate mail to all those girls. They dumped him, I dumped him too. My revenge was over." "I sent a love letter to our class teacher from my ex's account . He still doesn't know who did it."

How To Recover Your Megaupload Files - Tricks and Tips

Lot of people create online back up of their files by uploading files on the various free file sharing websites like Megaupload, Mediafire, 4Shared and many more. Megaupload was one of the leading file sharing website which is recently Shut Down by the FBI because this organization appeared to do copyright infringement. To protest against the seizure of Megaupload Anonymous attacked FBI website and shut it down within few minutes.

When you upload any file on a  file sharing website due to popularity it also gets shared on other multiple file sharing websites. As the Megaupload is not working now and if you want to recover your file which you had uploaded on megaupload website then here is the step by step tutorial.

"This Method is Not Guaranteed "

To recover your file you should know either the exact file name and file size or the URL link of the file.

If you know the exact URL link for your Megaupload file then search it in the Google. If you have the exact file name and file size then skip to third step.

In most cases it will show the file description, file name and file size of your searched URL.
Copy the file name and again search it in the Google.
Browse search results and look your file on other file sharing websites. You might get error messages while browsing it. You can also use advanced operators for search in Google.
Here I found the file on 4shared Servers that I was looking for

That’s it. As Megaupload is not working, beware of all fake Megaupload clones on the internet . To create back up of your files online always prefer websites like MirrorCreator which uploads your files on multiple websites simultaneously.

Google India Says , It Cannot Censor the Web

Ahead of a court hearing, technology giant Google facing controversy in India for allegedly hosting obscene and objectionable content has made it clear that it is not possible for the company to monitor everything on its website.

Google and Facebook are among the 21 companies whose executives have been summoned to appear in person in a lower court in Delhi on March 13.

“I am hoping there will be a balanced debate around it and eventually the right thing would happen,” Google's Chief Business Officer Nikesh Arora said.

“We cannot censor the Web. We cannot censor the ability of people to express themselves around the world,” Mr. Arora said here. “You are asking to censor the entire World Wide Web. The web has no borders. I think the idea of censoring everything and pre-clearing everything is going to fundamentally, sort of, taint the growth of the Indian economy,” he added.

Google Earth Latest Version ( 6.2 )

Google rolled out its latest version of Google Earth on Thursday. Calling it “the most beautiful Google Earth yet,” the update has managed to eliminate the “patchy” look of some of its images and now presents users with a more realistic depiction of how our planet really looks from up high.

In a post on the official Google blog, Google Earth product manager Peter Birch explained the new, smoother look: “We’re introducing a new way of rendering imagery that smooths out this quilt of images. The end result is a beautiful new Earth-viewing experience that preserves the unique textures of the world’s most defining geographic landscapes—without the quilt effect.”

Both mobile and desktop versions of the software will utilize the improved imagery, and while previous releases of Google Earth will also incorporate it, the latest version—Thursday’s 6.2 release—promises the optimum viewing experience using the new data.

It comes as little surprise to see that the new version of Google Earth now integrates Google+, with the option to, for example, share a screenshot through its social networking service.

“If you’ve already upgraded to Google+, you can share images of the places you’ve virtually traveled to with your Circles, such as family, friends or your local hiking club,” Birch explains. To take advantage of the feature, users need to sign in to their Google account by clicking on the new button that appears at the top right of the Google Earth interface.

Developers have also tweaked the search feature of its software, enabling the same auto-complete function used on Google Maps.

They’ve also introduced search layers, meaning search results will take you far beyond the usual top 10 returns, opening up many more possibilities if, for example, you’re looking for Italian restaurants in a particular town.

Birch announces in the post that biking, transit and walking directions (below) have also been added, “so if you’re itching for a change of scenery or looking for a new route for your regular commute, you can now use Google Earth to generate and visualize all your options.”

Google Earth, which first launched just seven years ago, was already an astonishing piece of software before this latest update, but now, with its smoothed-out aerial views of our planet, it’s just become a real work of beauty.

Youtube Film Festival

YouTube is launching a film festival that will play out online and ultimately send 10 finalists to the Venice Film Festival.

The Google Inc-owned video site announced Thursday that Your Film Festival will take submissions of short films up to 15 minutes in length between February 2 and March 31. Fifty semi-finalists will be selected by Scott Free Productions, Ridley and Tony Scott's production company.

Those 50 films will form a channel on YouTube: www.YouTube.com/yourfilmfestival. There, users will be able to view the films and vote for their favorites.

The 10 finalists will be flown to the 69th annual Venice Film Festival, where their films will be screened in August. Ridley Scott will lead a jury in selecting a winner, who will receive a $500,000 grant from YouTube to produce a work with Scott Free.

"Through this program, YouTube will give filmmakers the opportunity to reach a vast audience, screen their work during the Venice Film Festival and potentially be rewarded in a career-changing way," Robert Kyncl, global head of content at YouTube, said in a statement.

Last year, YouTube released the film "Life in a Day," which was co-produced by Scott. The feature-length documentary stitched together videos submitted by YouTube users.

Though anyone can submit a film, Your Film Festival is particularly hoping to reward young filmmakers and producers. YouTube said that it will be doing outreach at both the Sundance Film Festival and South By Southwest to spur filmmakers to participate in Your Film Festival and urge them to consider YouTube a pathway to industry attention.

"Short filmmaking is exactly where I started my career 50 years ago, so to be helping new filmmakers find an entry point like this into the industry is fantastic," said Scott.

YouTube has held film contests in the past, but the global Your Film Festival is on a much larger scale. International films will have subtitles added. Basically the only restrictions beside length are that entrants must be at least 18 years old and that the work can't have been distributed prior to January 1, 2010.

"We've always wanted to do something like this, but there were limitations in the past that prevented us from doing it," says Nate Weinstein, YouTube entertainment marketing manager. "The time also seemed right given the work that the organization is doing within original channels."

YouTube hopes the Your Film Festival channel will be a one-stop-shop for high-quality programming, and YouTube is increasing focus on the channels. YouTube is pushing to make its platform more conducive to longer viewing visits and to advertisers that want their brands aligned with quality programming.

YouTube's most dramatic push into original programming was announced last fall with the launch of more than 100 video channels from partners including an array of Hollywood production companies, celebrities and new media groups.

Facebook Makes Timeline Feature Compulsory For All Users

Social network Facebook has made compulsory its Timeline feature through which all of a user's photographs and wall posts would be seen by friends on their homepage.

The feature had been voluntary till now and Facebook has given all of its 800 million users a seven-day period to delete content before Timeline goes online, The Sun reported.

Timeline makes everything a person has ever done on Facebook appear on a single screen that scrolls down year by year right back to when the person was born.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg recently said he was convinced people wanted to be able to share their entire lives with one another.

Zuckerberg said Timeline was the "story of your life and completely new way to express yourself".

"Millions of people curate stories of their lives on Facebook every day and have no way to share them once they fall off your profile page," he said.

European Commission ( EU ) Proposed New and Harder Internet Privacy Laws

European Commission has proposed new and tougher privacy laws that are aimed at putting greater responsibility on companies like Google and Facebook to protect users' information, failing which, they would face hefty fines.

The new laws imply that millions of Internet users will have the 'right to be forgotten' and they could order companies to erase all the data it has on them, according to new legislation announced by the European Commission on Wednesday.

"The protection of personal data is a fundamental right for all Europeans, but citizens do not always feel in full control of their personal data," the Daily Mail quoted Viviane Reding, the EU Justice Commissioner as saying.

"A strong, clear and uniform legal framework at EU level will help to unleash the potential of the digital single market and foster economic growth, innovation and job creation," Reding stated.

A breach of the rules could result in fines of up to two per cent of a company's annual turnover, or 1 million dollars.

Under the new changes, the companies are required to inform their customers within 24 hours if their information has been hacked.

This change came in the wake of Sony's six-day delay in telling Playstation account holders of a hack attack that saw the personal information of millions of customers stolen.

The proposals under the EU Data Protection Regulation are expected to become law by the end of 2013 if they get approval from all the 27 EU member states and the European Parliament.

The data will comprise everything an individual has given the companies themselves, including posts, uploaded songs and photos, asserted Mina Andreeva, press officer for the Justice Commissioner.

"If you haven't given your consent, you have the right to object. If the person doesn't comply, you can appeal to your data protection officer," Andreeva added.

Aakash Tablet Version 2 in April 2012

In the course of complaints on the quality of the cheapest tablet, Aakash, the government on Monday stated that they are hopeful to bring out the upgraded version of the tablet, Aakash-II, by this April.
HRD Minister Kapil Sibal said, “To cater the great demand of Aakash among the public, we need many manufacturers to develop Aakash. We are enhancing the features according to the feedback we have got from Aakash-I. Hence we want to be sure that the upgraded version of the product caters to the requirements of the consumers. We have involved IIT in order to upgrade it. We will be able to bring in Aakash-II by April.”
Agreeing to the differences occurred between Aakash developers Datawind and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Sibal said, “We believe in sorting out the issues rather than stressing them.”

According to sources, Kapil Sibal is going to meet the Director of IIT Rajasthan, officials from Datawind and MHRD Special Secretary to talk on the issue. The minister said, “At the time of Aakash-I launch, we did not have any feedback. We distributed the device to several college students to have the feedback. By gathering that feedback, we are now able to enhance the specifications.”
According to expert reports, college students around India can get advanced version of Aakash tablet PC at no extra cost. Aakash-2 will be 3 times faster than the original version and will have 50% extra battery life. The advanced version is being prepared according to the feedback got from around 600 IIT and Engineering students.
“All issues have been resolved. We will receive 70,000 improved Aakash tablets from Datawind by end of the January,” said Kapil Sibal. Sources from Ministry said Datawind may not receive any future order as they have violated the conditions in the contract such as offering the tablet PCs to the government first before putting them for sale in open market.
